Be a Favorite Teacher

 

A favorite teacher is a teacher who his or her students like to teach by. Students always feel happy when their favorite teacher is teaching in their class. They exited to study because they like the ambience when they are learning in classroom. They are enjoyed the lesson and receive the knowledge which is delivered by the teacher well. In fact, it is not easy to be a favorite teacher. Every student has different skill, interest and desire. They often dislike the lesson because they dislike the way their teacher teaches or they do not like the teacher then they are not enjoyed and dislike the teaching and learning process. To be what students like, a teacher must be smart, exited and sincere.  If students love their teacher it will open the opportunities to make them love the lesson, too. When the students love the lesson, automatically they can be easier to study and receive the materials.

A smart person is people who can make a complicated thing become simple. This also must occur on a teacher. A smart teacher can wrap the difficulties of the materials into simpler and easier to be learnt by students. First, a smart teacher must master the materials very well.  When a teacher masters the whole materials, she/he will present the materials fluently, explain to the students clearly and make them understand it easily. Sometimes, after students get the materials, they will ask to their teacher about what they do not understand or they do not know. Their questions are often unpredictable. A smart teacher will always be able to answer all questions from the students without afraid that she/he will make a mistake, because a teacher may not seen that she/he do not know what the students ask to her/him. A smart teacher must also be able to listen and organize the students’ opinion. She/he can give responses for their arguments and tell them when their opinion is not appropriate with the materials politely.

The next step to be a favorite teacher is a teacher must be excited on her/his every hour of teaching. An excited teacher always has desire to encourage the students to study hard and make their dreams come true. Because of this excitement, the teacher does not let the students bored on the teaching and learning process. She/he will be looking for best ways and methods to make the lesson interesting and fun to learn and make sure that the teaching and learning process is running effectively. When there are students who do not interested with the lesson, an excited teacher will never give up and try another ways to make them interested to follow the class and then the students will be excited to get the materials of the lesson. The teacher is always patient with students who is difficult to be maintained. There are not problems in class that can discourage teacher’s excitement to teach and become a favorite teacher.

The last but not least, a teacher must be sincere to teach her/his students. It is mostly forgotten by teachers. They thought that teaching is a work and what they need to do is only teaching. They explain the material without wanted to know weather their students understand the materials or not. They forgot that they have responsibilities to educate and train their students, too. They should tell to their students which one is true and which one is false. They also should accustom their students to have good characteristics, powerful mindset and discipline habit of study.  A favorite teacher is a good teacher, and a good teacher definitely knows that she/he has responsibilities. Sincere is one of important characteristics which a teacher should have, because it will be like an alarm that can remind the teacher to do what she/he should do, not only do what she/he wants to do. A sincere teacher will love her/his students and it will lead her/him to always make sure that the students can enjoy the class, receive the materials well, and finally they can apply it in their real life.

From the explanation above, it known that the success of teaching and learning process is very depending on the teacher. The teacher should have techniques and methods to make students cleverer. One way to make it happen is become a favorite teacher. What a teacher needs to be a favorite teacher is smart, excited and sincere. A smart teacher will lead her/his students get more knowledge and make them active to looking for more information. An excited teacher will bring students into understanding, which is very important to help them remember the whole materials of the lesson and also make the ambience of the class fun and effective. A sincere teacher will teach her/his students with love and help students to build good characteristics. Students will always feel happy when they are taught by their favorite teacher. When they are happy in teaching and learning process they will enjoy the class, easily receive the materials and do not have difficulty to solve the problems of study. Then in the end, the goals of teaching and learning process will be reached.

My Creative Writing: My Classmate

I have interviewed my classmate named Rinna Aprilia. Rinna lives in Karangrejo, about 5 km from UNTAG Banyuwangi. She said that she loves to be at home very much because she can relax on her bed to watch television or movie on her laptop and to gather with her parents. She also likes to travel to many places with her family. Last place she went with her family is Batu Secret Zoo in Malang. “That is the best place to go to have a quality time with whole family”, she said. Next place she wants to go most is Ancol in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. She wants to try playing roller coaster and another game that provide there. She also curious to come in Ghost house which people said there was so scaring place in Ancol. She stated that her parents want not take her then because it is to far from her house, so she dreams to travel there with her husband in the future. Just for information, her boyfriend has promised her to have a honeymoon there if they have married. The favorite place she ever went a lot is Taman Suruh in west Banyuwangi. She can walk around the park there, swim in fresh and cold water in it and plays some outbound.

The Problems and Solutions of Curriculum 2013

The government of Indonesia releases a new curriculum that is called Curriculum 2013. The Curriculum 2013 that recently replaces KTSP is confused the doer of education; even they are the teachers or students. The teachers just apply the oldest one and then suddenly government asks them to use Curriculum 2013. They thought it was difficult to do because they have to adapt with the new one first. The Curriculum 2013 is not easy to understand because it is very different with KTSP. The teachers need to know the curriculum well and then they will apply it well, too. In other hand, the students also have troublesome with the application of Curriculum 2013. In this curriculum, students must be more active in class but the teacher is not. They have to give a presentation in every meeting and the teacher just sat at the chair and asses them. They think it was not fair. The launching of a new curriculum should be followed by giving direction on seminar or coaching for the teachers. It would help them to understand the curriculum. If the teachers know the curriculum well, then they will also able to apply it effectively without making the students feel unfair. Every problem must have solution, so do the problem of Curriculum 2013. No matter what the curriculum is used, the importance is the application of it do not confusing the doer of education.

process or product?

The process is more important that the product in education point of view. As we know that in learning activity has two aspects. They are process and as the result of the process is product. The process of learning will determine the product through how the quality of it. we can see it in the activeness of the learners, when they are very carious in process of learning. In the other, process gives more impression than the product. The experiences that the learners will be gotten gives them unforgetable knowledge. Then the product we get will describes how the quality and the process run. perhaps most of the people who concern with the product without knowing the process consider that the product determine everything in learning activity. So, education should give more attention on the process of learning than the product.

The Effects of Technology

Technology have many effects for people nowadays. It is like a trend that everyone need technology to do their activity. Technology make people's working become easier and faster. It contain features and applications that can use not only for adult but also teenagers and children. In other hand, this phenomenon give influence for people social communication without they realize. For the examples, some people choose to stay at home to play with their gadget than go outside and meet another people. They often to busy with their social-media. Children also prefer to play games on their gadget than play with their friends on the park. From the example above, people will probably get misscommunication each other and become anti-social. People must limit and control their selves to use their gadget, so that the influence of technology will not give them negative effects.

The Importance of English

In today's global world, the importance of English cannot be denied. There are some reasons why English is now important. First, English is international language because it is the most common language spoken everywhere. Second, by understanding English, people can learn about cultures, traditions, educations, lifestyles, etc. from another countries all over the world. This reason is because English enable people to have communication with other people around the world. The third, English can help people to get a high quality job because good company need employers who have good understanding and speaking ability in English. From the reasons above, people should realize that English is truly important.
